Job summary

Carpenter Technology Tanner, AL is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to provide mechanical support for maintenance, engineering, and production. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of plant assets within a lean manufacturing environment.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED, an AS in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance or related field, and at least 2 years of mechanical experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AS degree in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance or relevant field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and P&IDs.
• Hydraulic system maintenance and repair or similar lubrication system experience.
• Basic welding and pipefitting expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical support for maintenance, engineering, and production.
• Support includes troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of plant assets.
• Carry out mechanical design, modification, adaptation, installation, problem solving, and troubleshooting on equipment with electrical personnel.
• Supervise or perform maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
• Assist other production team members with equipment and process knowledge.
• Take on special projects as assigned.
