Job summary

Carpenter Technology is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician in Tanner, AL to perform maintenance on furnaces, presses, hydraulic systems, engines, motors, pumps, and conveyors. The role requires reading control logic, instrument loops, and drawings, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The candidate should have an AS in Electrical or Manufacturing Controls and 2+ years of industrial electrical/instrumentation experience, including PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens S7).

Qualifications

• Two or more technical skills from the list above are desirable.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens S7 PLCs.
• Ability to read control logic, diagrams, instrument loops and control circuits.

Responsibilities

• Safely performs assigned maintenance tasks and keeps the work area clean and compliant with procedures and regulations.
• Supports shutdowns/outages planning and execution.
• Maintains up-to-date spare parts and drawings.
• Communicates with maintenance and production to maintain equipment reliability.
• Locates sources of problems by observing devices, listening for problems, and using testing instruments.
• Removes/replaces defective parts using hoists, cranes and tools; measures parts with calipers and micrometers.
• Performs preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and monitor compliance.
• Assists with other production-related tasks and overtime as required.
• Willing to work a rotating shift.
