Job summary
Georgia-Pacific's Diboll plant in Texas is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair machinery, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, and keep detailed PM records. The role requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts or days, with potential weekends and overtime.
Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, proactive, and team-focused, capable of fabricating and repairing components with welding and machine shop tools, while upholding strict safety
Qualifications
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and pumps.
- Three (3) or more years of experience working in the Industrial Maintenance field.
- Experience with fabrication and welding.
- Experience mentoring Mechanical Maintenance Technicians.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical inspections, repair and maintenance on all machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission and steam systems.
- Input work orders, parts, and labor hours into computer systems; maintain PM records.
- Replace defective parts using welding, drill press, and machine shop equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled or assigned.
- Assist with creating job plans for future reference on repair jobs.
- Share knowledge through training and providing technical assistance to teammates.
- Adhere to safety policies and wear PPE.
