Job summary

Georgia-Pacific's OSB plant in Gladys, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Millwright) to support a rotating 12-hour shift and other schedules including days, weekends and holidays. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork and initiative in a hot, humid industrial setting.

Responsibilites include mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, parts replacement, PMs and maintaining labor records. Prior experience in industrial maintenance and welding/fabrication is preferred; HS diploma or trade

Qualifications

• Experience installing, trouble shooting, and repairing industrial equipment.
• Two or more years in Industrial Maintenance OR completion of a mechanical trade school or apprenticeship.
• Experience with conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics and pumps.
• Experience with fabrication and welding.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical inspections, repair and maintain all machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission and steam systems.
• Use computer systems to input work orders and maintain records.
• Replace defective parts using welding, drill press and shop equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
• Assist in creating job plans for future repairs.
