Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is seeking a Mechanical Intern to assist the engineering staff on assigned projects and begin to learn policy and procedure.

Under supervision you will participate in technical studies, investigations and designs for projects, and help the team produce deliverables. Key activities include learning basics of design and analyses, supporting the project team, inspecting work on construction sites, and handling documents and plans with care, including lifting plan

• The Mechanical Intern is expected to learn the basics of design and analyses within their discipline.
• Candidate shows potential for employment and growth within the firm.
• Must be able to operate a computer to check email and produce documents.
• Must be able to traverse construction sites to inspect contractor work.
• Must be able to lift plans weighing up to 30 pounds.

• Learn the basics of design and analyses within the discipline.

• Contribute to production of project deliverables under supervision.
• Traverse construction sites to inspect work performed by contractors.
• Assist with plan handling and document production, including lifting plan sheets up to 30 pounds.

The Mechanical Intern assists the engineering staff in the execution of the technical activities required on assigned projects and begins to learn the discipline technical policies and procedures. Under supervision participates in technical studies, investigation and designs on assigned projects. Assists the project team in the production of projects which shall include but not be limited to:

• Demonstrated ability to learn the basics of design and analyses within his or her discipline.
• An individual with potential for employment and growth within the firm.
• Incumbent must be able to operate a computer to check email and to produce documents using a software program.
• Incumbent shall be able to traverse and navigate construction sites to inspect work done by contractors.
• Manipulates plans periodically. Must be able to lift plans weighting 30 pounds.
