Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) invites applications for a Mechanical Intern to support engineering staff on projects across the United States. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, exposure to design processes, and collaboration with an experienced team.

You will assist with technical studies, participate in design activities, and help produce project documents while learning the firm’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated ability to learn the basics of design and analyses within his or her discipline.
• An individual with potential for employment and growth within the firm.
• Incumbent must be able to operate a computer to check email and to produce documents using a software program.
• Incumbent shall be able to traverse and navigate construction sites to inspect work done by contractors.
• Manipulates plans periodically. Must be able to lift plans weighting 30 pounds.

Description:

The Mechanical Intern assists the engineering staff in the execution of the technical activities required on assigned projects and begins to learn the discipline technical policies and procedures. Under supervision participates in technical studies, investigation and designs on assigned projects. Assists the project team in the production of projects which shall include but not be limited to:
