Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) invites applications for a Mechanical Intern at our Dallas, TX office. The role supports engineering staff on assigned projects and begins to learn discipline policies and procedures under supervision.

You will assist in technical studies and designs, contribute to project teams, and gain exposure to design and analyses. This is an on-site, full-time internship with opportunities for growth within the firm.

Responsibilities

• Assists the engineering staff in the execution of the technical activities required on assigned projects.
• Begins to learn the discipline technical policies and procedures.
• Under supervision participates in technical studies, investigation and designs on assigned projects.
• Assists the project team in the production of projects which shall include but not be limited to tasks listed.
• Travel on construction sites to inspect work done by contractors.

Description:

The Mechanical Intern assists the engineering staff in the execution of the technical activities required on assigned projects and begins to learn the discipline technical policies and procedures. Under supervision participates in technical studies, investigation and designs on assigned projects. Assists the project team in the production of projects which shall include but not be limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated ability to learn the basics of design and analyses within his or her discipline.
• An individual with potential for employment and growth within the firm.
• Incumbent must be able to operate a computer to check email and to produce documents using a software program.
• Incumbent shall be able to traverse and navigate construction sites to inspect work done by contractors.
• Manipulates plans periodically. Must be able to lift plans weighting 30 pounds.
