Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) in Houston seeks an Electrical Intern to assist the engineering staff on assigned projects and begin learning discipline policies and procedures.

Under supervision, you will participate in technical studies, investigations, and designs related to the electrical scope. The intern assists the project team in producing project documents and may contribute to various design tasks while gaining growth opportunities within the firm.

Qualifications

• Learning the basics of design and analyses within the electrical discipline.
• Evidence of growth potential within the firm.
• Ability to use a computer to check email and to produce documents.
• Ability to traverse construction sites to inspect contractor work.
• Ability to lift plans up to 30 pounds.

Description:

The Electrical Intern assists the engineering staff in the execution of the technical activities required on assigned projects and begins to learn the discipline technical policies and procedures. Under supervision participates in technical studies, investigation and designs on assigned projects. Assists the project team in the production of projects which shall include but not be limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated ability to learn the basics of design and analyses within his or her discipline.
• An individual with potential for employment and growth within the firm.
• Incumbent must be able to operate a computer to check email and to produce documents using a software program.
• Incumbent shall be able to traverse and navigate construction sites to inspect work done by contractors.
• Manipulates plans periodically. Must be able to lift plans weighting 30 pounds.
