Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Fort Benning, GA. The role involves inspecting construction on military installations, reviewing contractor submittals, and supporting contract administration under USACE guidelines.

The ideal candidate has ME degree, 4+ years of construction inspection experience, and familiarity with HVAC/mechanical systems. PE preferred; USACE experience is a plus. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• PE license preferred.
• Experience with construction inspection, contract administration, and/or office engineering support.
• Experience with mechanical/HVAC/plumbing systems and mechanical construction inspection.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Review contractors' quality management procedures and report findings.
• Attend and participate in the 3-Phase Inspection process.
• Observe construction and report issues to the Contracting Officer's Representative.
• Review submittals and provide recommendations concerning acceptability.
• Prepare written comments on contractor submittals.
• Evaluate questions and RFIs/RFCs and propose solutions.
• Review construction schedules and report findings.
• Provide analyses for contract progress reports and payment estimates.
• Assist in preparing change orders and claims documentation.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to verify conformance.
