Mitie is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to undertake planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical plant and building services. You will diagnose faults, install and maintain pumps, valves, and piping, and carry out new works from drawings with minimal supervision.

You will work at remote and field locations, including challenging sites, ensuring safety, quality and first-time-right outcomes while maintaining accurate records and complying with health and safety

Formación

• GCSEs, or equivalent qualifications, including English and Mathematics.
• Completed recognised mechanical engineering, building services or maintenance apprenticeship, or NVQ Level 2 or above (Level 3 preferred).
• Strong mechanical engineering/building-services maintenance background with demonstrable experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical plant and equipment.
• Knowledge of oil-fired plant and associated mechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of compressors, compressed air systems, and steam/boiler systems.
• Competent in fault-finding, diagnosis, repair and replacement of mechanical components.
• Ability to undertake new works and installations from drawings and specifications with minimal supervision.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation, safe systems of work and risk assessments.
• Hold full valid driving licence.
• Willingness to participate in emergency call-out rota and work at remote locations.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and undertake repairs safely and efficiently.
• Install, replace and maintain pumps, valves, pipework and mechanical components.
• Undertake new works and minor installations from drawings and specs with minimal supervision.
• Maintain quality, first-time fix and accurate maintenance records.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and liaise with stakeholders to minimise disruption.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and work at remote or field locations as required.
• Maintain tools and work areas in a safe, clean condition.
