Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to safely prepare and assemble mechanical components from intake to shipment. The role requires reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

You will also operate forklifts and overhead cranes and document corrective actions in a manufacturing setting. Collaborating with a team to meet daily targets, you may assist with basic maintenance and support engineering or electrical teams when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Prior experience using hand tools and operating forklifts.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, solutions-focused, and productive attitude in support of plant goals for reliability, safety, integrity, quality, and overall performance.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to assemble mechanical components using hand tools, torque wrenches, and other equipment.
• Utilize forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment to transport components within the facility.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting to identify and address issues during assembly and ensure proper documentation of corrective actions.
• Collaborate with team members to solve production challenges and meet daily targets.
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks and support engineering or electrical teams when needed.
• Maintain accurate production records, including parts assembled and quantities completed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
