Job summary

CT Mechanical, a division of Comfort Temp, is seeking a Mechanical Estimator in Florida to prepare accurate estimates for commercial mechanical construction projects in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa.

The role requires reviewing plans and bid documents, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting vendor pricing, and delivering complete bid packages for leadership review. Candidates should be detail-oriented, Excel-fluent, and able to manage multiple deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting commercial construction drawings and bid documents.
• Knowledge of commercial mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping).
• Ability to prepare detailed estimates and meet bid deadlines.
• Strong Excel skills and document review abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to understand scope.
• Prepare detailed estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractor costs.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop cost build-ups.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and clarifications before bid submission.
• Prepare bid forms and cost summaries for leadership review.
• Maintain estimate files and supporting documentation.
