Job summary

Turner Construction Co. in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced estimator to prepare detailed estimates for identified xPL solutions across structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes.

You will develop bid packages, coordinate with vendors and stakeholders, and ensure completeness of estimates with DFMA insights. Responsibilities include documenting control, aligning with manufacturing and procurement for pricing, and maintaining cost databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years in construction estimating.
• Experience in structural, mechanical and/or electrical disciplines.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Knowledge of estimating documents and ability to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimate including quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate input, and studies for items in identified xPL project scope.
• Collaborate with xPL team and stakeholders to understand boundaries of proposed scope and identified solutions.
• Apply DFMA knowledge to understand project and product requirements for xPL manufacturing and facility capacity.
• Lead document management for project, including receiving drawings and specifications and distributing information.
• Assist with defining set-up of estimate, schedule, and responsibility matrix.
• Serve as liaison with vendors, suppliers, and third-party integrators to document coordination and scope definitions.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing and Procurement to obtain best pricing and substitutions.
• Analyze cost data and develop standard information for assessing xPL costs.
• Develop value analysis studies evaluating schedule, cost, and labor benefits.
• Gain comprehension of factors required for comprehensive xPL scoping including contracts, logistics, and schedule.
• Prepare scope requisitions and identify/eliminate scope gaps.
• Prepare comparison analyses to previous estimates or alternatives.
• Develop and maintain pricing histories and databases.
