Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator with Data Center Construction experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems in construction projects, ensuring effective cost management and project success.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, developing cost management plans, value engineering, risk analysis, and collaboration with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Data Center Construction / Mission Critical environments.
• Client-facing experience.
• Knowledge of value management and value engineering.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems in construction projects.
• Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop comprehensive cost management plans.
• Analyze project requirements and provide value engineering options.
• Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare estimates.
• Provide estimating advice, guidance, and analysis to project stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry estimating processes and methodologies.
• Prepare formal estimating reports, including quantity, cost, escalation, and other assumptions and clarifications.
• Assist in the development of estimating standards and best practices.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
