Job summary

Airo Mechanical is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our NC-based team. You will analyze project specs, perform takeoffs, and develop accurate cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing projects.

You will work with project managers, architects, and suppliers, prepare bid proposals, and identify cost risks and value engineering opportunities to help win profitable projects. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree, 2+ years estimating experience, and proficiency with Trimble or similar software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical estimating.
• Proficiency with Trimble estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specs to define scope.
• Conduct on-site visits to gather project data.
• Prepare takeoffs and detailed cost estimates.
• Identify value engineering options.
• Use cost databases and benchmarks to improve accuracy.
• Create bid proposals with scope, costs, qualifications.
• Coordinate with bid team to align proposals with requirements.
• Request and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotes.
• Build supplier relationships for competitive pricing.
• Identify risks affecting costs.
• Suggest risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with sales/PMs/architects to refine requirements.
• Communicate clearly to align on estimates and goals.
• Other duties as assigned.
