Job summary

Airo Mechanical, a leader in HVAC and plumbing for new construction, is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to analyze project specifications and produce accurate cost estimates. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals and financial objectives.

The role involves reviewing plans, performing on-site data collection, takeoffs, and developing comprehensive bid proposals with cost breakdowns.

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing project plans, specs, and requirements.
• Ability to perform on-site data collection for accurate estimates.
• Familiarity with value engineering and cost benchmarking.
• Experience preparing bid proposals and cost breakdowns.
• Ability to identify cost risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Estimator at Airo Mechanical, you will play a pivotal role in our construction and project management processes. The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze project specifications, gather necessary data, and produce accurate cost estimates. You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that our estimates align with project goals and financial objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to understand the scope of work.
• Conduct on-site visits to gather information about project conditions and constraints.
• Complete Take Off and prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Provide input on value engineering opportunities
• Utilize cost databases, historical data, and industry benchmarks to enhance accuracy.
• Develop comprehensive bid proposals outlining the scope of work, cost breakdown, and any necessary qualifications.
• Collaborate with the bid team to ensure all aspects of the proposal align with project requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Identify and assess potential risks that may impact project costs.
• Propose risk mitigation strategies to ensure the financial success of projects.
• Work closely with sales, project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to refine project requirements.
• Communicate effectively to ensure all team members are aligned on cost estimates and project goals.
