Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Engineering New Graduate in Urbandale, IA, to join a team of experienced engineers and consultants. You will gain hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience with mentorship and training from day one.

You’ll assist with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design while supporting budgets, timelines, and client expectations. This role emphasizes energy-efficient design and collaboration across disciplines in a full-time, in-office setting.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for buildings.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and budget considerations.
• Document design decisions and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical solutions.
• Contribute to IMEG quality control processes and industry standards.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
• Prioritize safety in all engineering work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Work within the project budget and cross-functional teams.
