Job summary

RENK America is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist engineers in designing and developing engine components and subsystems for the AVDS engine and transmissions. You will participate in requirements development, concept design, analysis, drawings, test planning, and failure analysis under lead engineers in a manufacturing setting in Muskegon, MI.

Preferred candidates are students pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering (Jr./Sr.) with a minimum 3.0 GPA, strong analytical skills, and

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Mechanical Engineering (Jr/Sr) with a 3.0+ GPA.
• Ability to perform mechanical stress and structural calculations.
• Ability to perform thermal fluids and heat transfer calculations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Eligible for DOD security clearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Able to work in manufacturing and lab environments.

Responsibilities

• Support development of system, sub-system, and components to meet requirements.
• Develop concepts to meet requirements.
• Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and thermal analyses.
• Develop test plans to validate designs.
• Conduct engine and component tests with lead engineers.
• Conduct failure investigations with lead engineer.
• Prepare engineering reports and presentations.
