Job summary

RENK America is seeking a Transmission Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist senior engineers in design, integration, and testing of mechanical systems for military ground vehicles. This role offers exposure to the full product development cycle from research to prototyping and test activities under close supervision.

You will work on CAD models, analyses, data reporting, and support root-cause investigations, gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment in Muskegon, Michigan.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a BSME program as a junior or senior with at least 3.0 GPA.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience or interest in CAD tools and Creo modeling.

Responsibilities

• Support design and engineering tasks for transmissions or gearboxes.
• Assist CAD models and drawings development.
• Perform basic mechanical, hydraulic, and thermal analyses.
• Support test planning and execution including bench and vehicle testing.
• Contribute to data analysis and root cause investigations.
