Job summary

RENK America invites an Transmission Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Muskegon facility. You will assist with design, integration and test of electrical systems and devices for military ground vehicles, including tanks and artillery, under a mentor.

You’ll help create schematics, support architecture drawings and contribute to the product development cycle—from modeling to testing. The role emphasizes hands-on experience in Altium, FPGA integration, electrical/thermal analyses, and data

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in Electrical Engineering for at least 2 years.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Able to move freely in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create components/schematics for the Altium library by interpreting manufacturer’s data sheets.
  • Support development of electrical schematics and architecture drawings.
  • Assist in designing and developing CCAs and wire harnesses.
  • Support hybrid powerpack electrical architecture design.
  • Assist with FPGA integration.
  • Perform minor electrical and thermal analyses.
  • Support requirements derivation and verification.
  • Assist with test plan generation.
  • Support test activities including bench, dynamometer, and vehicle level testing.
  • Perform data analysis.
  • Participate in root cause failure analysis investigations on electrical systems.
