Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Buildings team in the United States. You’ll work with engineers and designers on HVAC, plumbing, piping and related systems on government facilities, while supporting drawings, calculations, and project documentation.

Expect a 40-hour work week in an office setting with occasional field work. You’ll be mentored by a Senior Designer or Engineer and gain practical, real-world experience that builds technical and collaboration skills

Qualifications

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with Revit.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers to prepare reports, design documents, and calculations.
• Perform engineering calculations using HVAC design software and Excel
• Use Revit to prepare HVAC and plumbing drawings and details
• Learn to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems
• Collaborate with project teams
