Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team seeks a Mechanical Engineer to work on both small and larger projects under guidance from Senior Engineers or PMs. You’ll evaluate and specify HVAC systems, verify code compliance, and perform Revit modeling, design drawings, and field surveys.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines, coordinate with consultants and clients, and help mentor junior staff while delivering documentation and specifications for multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical emphasis.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the buildings design industry.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or pursuing licensure preferred.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop full documentation for new construction and renovations across multiple facilities.
• Develop designs through sketches, models, diagrams, and visuals.
• Use BIM (Revit) to model mechanical systems in 3D.
• Prepare and revise documentation for mechanical phases (plans, diagrams, details).
• Coordinate with internal teams and external parties including owners and contractors.
• Engage with clients to establish criteria and review progress.
• Coordinate project specifications with construction documents.
• Perform site surveys and field reports; manage multiple projects.
