Job summary

STV Incorporated in Philadelphia is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our Buildings team. You will work with senior engineers on HVAC design, calculations, and reports for diverse building projects in a hybrid office setting.

You’ll participate in equipment selection, develop drawings and specs, and mentor junior staff while meeting with clients to discuss project requirements and recommendations. ABET-accredited degree pursuing. Sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in HVAC designs, calculations, and reports for various building projects.
• Participate in equipment selection and specification writing processes.
• Lead projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance as needed.
• Meet with clients to discuss project requirements and make recommendations based on their needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, traffic, and geotechnical engineers.
• Plan, organize, and develop engineering activities for construction and maintenance projects.
• Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Devise innovative approaches to solve engineering problems.
• Prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
• Monitor work to ensure compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.

Education
