Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in New York City invites an engineering intern to join our Buildings team, contributing to mechanical design on diverse projects for public and private clients. You will assist with HVAC, plumbing, piping, and use AutoCAD MEP and Revit under supervision.

You will gain hands-on experience, learn industry practices, and collaborate with engineers and designers across disciplines, with a 40-hour work week in NYC and opportunities to engage in design projects.

Qualifications

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong work ethic and motivation to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP and Revit.
• Working knowledge of heat transfer calculations.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers to prepare reports, design documents, and calculations.
• Perform engineering calculations using HVAC design software and Excel.
• Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare HVAC and plumbing drawings and details.
• Learn to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Participate in Summer Intern Design Project with interns of other building design disciplines.
