Job summary

Stantec is offering an internship in Building Mechanical design across Rochester, Albany, and Binghamton offices. You will work with engineers and designers on HVAC, plumbing, and related systems, gaining hands-on experience on multiple projects for public and private sector clients.

The role involves drafting, calculations, and collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams, with a total of 40 hours per week and potential fieldwork in various facilities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• Ability to report to the Rochester, Albany, or Binghamton offices.
• Some fieldwork may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers to prepare reports, design documents, and calculations.
• Perform engineering calculations using HVAC design software and Excel.
• Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare HVAC and plumbing drawings and details.
• Learn to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Participate in Summer Intern Design Project with interns of other building design disciplines
