Job summary

Stantec is seeking an engineering intern to join our Buildings team in Butler, PA. You will work with engineers and designers on multiple projects for public and private sector clients, gaining hands-on experience in mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and more.

You will learn to apply fundamental engineering principles, perform calculations, and use AutoCAD MEP and Revit under supervision. This internship offers real responsibility and a path to a rewarding career in consulting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• The candidate should have the ability to report to the office in Butler, PA.
• Some fieldwork may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with and assist Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers to prepare reports, design documents, and calculations.
• Perform engineering calculations using HVAC design software and Excel
• Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare HVAC and plumbing drawings and details
• Learn to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams
• Participate in Summer Intern Design Project with interns of other building design disciplines
