Job summary

Stantec Buildings Internship invites you to join a hands-on program where you work under guidance on tasks and smaller projects within a larger team guided by a Senior Engineer. You will help evaluate and specify engineered systems, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, while collaborating with designers, planners, engineers, and project managers on local projects.

You will participate in the Intern Design Project with peers from multiple building design disciplines to deliver

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least second year of Bachelors program in Mechanical Engineering by start date of Internship.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit (ideal).
• This position requires in-person site visits.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers.
• Interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural and civil plans.
• Perform engineering calculations using HVAC design software and Excel.
• Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare HVAC and plumbing drawings and details.
• Learn to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems.
• Collaborate with and support multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Participate in the Summer Intern Design Project with interns from other disciplines.
