Job summary

Stantec invites motivated engineering students to join as an intern in our Buildings-US Northeast Engineering group. You will work with engineers and designers on HVAC, plumbing, and related systems across public and private sector projects, gaining practical skills and professional networks.

The role focuses on hands-on tasks under supervision, with a 40-hour workweek and opportunities across Rochester, Albany, Binghamton, or Burlington offices. Some fieldwork may be involved.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• The candidate should have the ability to report to the office in Rochester, NY; Albany, NY; Binghamton, NY; or Burlington, MA.
• Some fieldwork may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers to prepare reports, design documents, and calculations.
• Perform engineering calculations using HVAC design software and Excel
• Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare HVAC and plumbing drawings and details
• Learn to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams
• Participate in Summer Intern Design Project with interns of other building design disciplines
