Job summary

Stantec is seeking an intern to join our Buildings-US Northeast Engineering team. You’ll work with engineers and designers on HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related systems for diverse facilities, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic setting.

The role supports 40 hours per week and the candidate will report to offices in Rochester, NY; Albany, NY; Binghamton, NY; or Burlington, MA. Fieldwork may be required as part of the program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Ability to report to multiple office locations.
• Some fieldwork may be required.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers with reports, design documents, and calculations.
• Perform engineering calculations using HVAC design software and Excel.
• Use AutoCAD MEP and Revit to prepare HVAC and plumbing drawings.
• Learn fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Participate in Summer Intern Design Project with interns from other disciplines.
