Job summary

Envista Forensics is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering student for a Summer internship spanning May through August 2027 in the Chicago, IL or Columbus, OH area. You’ll engage in forensic and consulting engineering tasks, including research, reporting, site inspections and data collection.

You’ll receive coaching from Team Leads, hands-on exposure to engineering core functions, and opportunities to transition to full-time roles after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing 3rd-year or 4th-year in an accredited Mechanical Engineering program.
• Recent graduates are eligible for this program.
• Master’s program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical discipline to conduct in-depth technical research concerning pricing, specifications, and equipment repair options.
• Contribute to investigation of incidents including evidence collection, site documentation, and equipment photos.
• Assist with writing reports based on investigative findings.
• Travel to required locations for site inspections, trials, or client meetings.
• Set up and run test projects; collect data and distill into usable information.
• Assist consultants with marketing efforts and matter-related work as needed.
