Job summary

Envista Forensics is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering student for a summer internship. You’ll be exposed to forensic and consulting engineering, including technical research, report writing, site inspections, and milestone projects. Coaching and mentorship are provided by Team Leads, with access to engineering and core functions of the company.

This paid internship runs May 2027 to August 2027, with potential to transition into a full-time role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing 3rd- or 4th-year mechanical engineering in an accredited program.
• Recent graduates are eligible for the program.
• Master’s students preferred for this internship.
• Available to work in Chicago, IL or Columbus, OH area.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical discipline to conduct in-depth research on pricing, specs, and equipment repair options.
• Contribute to incident investigations: collect evidence, document site and equipment, photograph areas related to the claim.
• Work with the Team Lead to write reports based on findings.
• Travel to required locations for site inspections, trial-witnesses, or client meetings.
• Set up and run test projects; collect data and distill it into usable information.
• Assist consultants with marketing efforts and related tasks as needed.
