Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Cleveland, OH. You will assist in engineering duties under supervision, participating in maintenance, design, and analysis activities across plant operations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Sophomore year completed by Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

• Recommend and/or perform predictive, preventative, and emergency maintenance of equipment.
• Research, design, evaluate, install, modernize, redesign, operate, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment.
• Resolve equipment malfunctions, including those requiring scheduled shutdowns or breakdown action.
• Participate in planning, scheduling, and cost control of maintenance/engineering projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and reports.
• Analyze current operating performance and SOPs to suggest improvements.
• Support various other projects to assist the business.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Completion of sophomore year by Summer 2027
