Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs offers an internship/co-op program designed for students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related fields. Under supervision, you will assist in maintaining and improving plant equipment, while gaining exposure to real-world engineering challenges at our Dearborn location.

As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and operators, participate in project planning and cost control, and contribute to meaningful solutions during the program,

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BS program in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical degree.
• Sophomore year completed by Summer 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in predictive, preventative and emergency maintenance of equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and reports.
• Assist in planning, scheduling and cost control of maintenance/engineering projects.
• Support analysis of operating performance and SOPs to identify improvements.
