Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, invites engineering students to join as interns in Milwaukee. You will assist a variety of engineers with mechanical tasks and gain hands-on experience on real projects.

Responsibilities include CATIA-based layouts, component selection for weight and cost, supporting prototype and production builds, and contributing to calculations, BOM updates, ECN handling, and PLM data management.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering for the duration of the internship.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with CATIA or Pro-E is a plus.
  • Previous internship or work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD software (CATIA).
  • Select parts for weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Support prototypes, pilots, and production builds on the assembly floor.
  • Generate engineering calculations (weight distribution, stress, performance).
  • Consult with suppliers and internal teams to resolve problems.
  • Create and manage ECNs using PLM system; update BOMs as needed.
  • Design, model, and test mechanical systems integrated with vehicles.
  • Assist in testing of vehicles or components.
