Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering intern to support continuous improvement in a high‑volume production setting. You will assist the Manager of Manufacturing, contribute ideas, and gain hands‑on experience with ERP JD Edwards, CAD tools, and lean concepts.

You will audit work instructions, conduct time studies, and help improve material handling, layout, and documentation for new product launches. This program emphasizes growth and equal opportunity.

Qualifications

  • Student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Welding Engineering Technology, Industrial, Mechanical or related Engineering field for the full internship duration.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
  • Experience with welding, machining, or fabrication is a plus.
  • Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD software and lean concepts is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and update work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
  • Improve material handling methods and perform time studies.
  • Develop methods in fabrication and machining processes.
  • Assist with plant layout and workstation design.
  • Learn and use ERP manufacturing software (JD Edwards).
  • Create documentation for new product launches.
