Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, is seeking a design intern to assist engineers and designers with CAD tasks to streamline operations within the engineering department.

The role focuses on creating 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs, while following SOPs and CAD standards. Minimum qualifications include pursuing an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design, with a 3.0+ GPA and CAD software experience.

Qualifications

• Student working towards an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or related area for entire duration of internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Experience with CATIA or other CAD design software.
• Ability to use and understand linear measurements, Imperial and Metric Systems, and proficient in reading a tape measure and other measuring devices.
• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering 3D models, 2D drawings, and/or electrical schematic preparation using computer aided design software.
• Create Bills of Material to support production and/or new product development.
• Create Engineering Change Notice as required to release new or revised models and drawings.
• Assist with the material selection for engineered parts.
• Conforms to Standard Operating Procedures, CAD procedures and drafting standards, and department work instructions and policies.
