Job summary

Stratus Team LLC in Roanoke, VA seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support engineers and designers on HVAC, plumbing, and building systems. You will gain hands-on experience with mechanical design, load calculations, and project delivery under experienced mentors.

This internship offers exposure to energy efficiency, coordination with architecture and structures, and opportunities to develop CAD skills in AutoCAD or Revit while contributing to real projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Completion of relevant engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, HVAC, or technical coursework.
• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical drawings, calculations, equipment research, reports, and other project documentation.
• Support the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, process, and related mechanical systems.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, field observations, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
