Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own the design, development, and implementation of production tooling for solid rocket motors. You will drive end-to-end tooling lifecycle, from concept through production release, collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and vendors to optimize tooling performance and lifespan.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background with 3–8+ years of tooling design and strong CAD/FEA capabilities, and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–8+ years in mechanical or production engineering.
• Experience owning mechanical design from concept to production release.
• Experience designing production-grade tooling (jigs, fixtures, molds, aids, test fixtures).
• Proficient in 3D CAD and FEA for design validation.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA in product and tooling.
• GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• U.S. Person status required for export-controlled data.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end lifecycle of tooling for SRM from concept to production.
• Design authority for jigs, fixtures, molds, assembly aids, test fixtures.
• Use CAD, FEA, DFM/ DFA to ensure robustness and manufacturability.
• Oversee prototyping, validation, and iterative design.
• Create docs, work instructions, maintenance, and QC plans.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and vendors to optimize tooling.
• Apply DFM/DFA to tooling and product.
• Serve as technical resource across manufacturing value chain.
