Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer for production tooling on solid rocket motors. You will own the tooling lifecycle, from concept through production, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and external vendors to ensure high-rate, safe production.

We value DFM/DFA, advanced CAD/FEA, and GD&T expertise, with 3–8+ years in mechanical engineering. The role sits in our RMS team in a dynamic defense manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–8+ years in mechanical engineering with manufacturing focus.
• Proven ownership of mechanical design projects from concept to production release.
• Experience designing, prototyping, and implementing production tooling.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD and FEA.
• Strong understanding of DFM and DFA.
• Knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes (machining, welding, casting, additive, composites).
• Experience with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• US Person status required for export-controlled data.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end tooling lifecycle for solid rocket motors from concept to production release.
• Serve as design authority for tooling including jigs, fixtures, molds, and test fixtures.
• Use CAD, FEA, DFM/DFA to optimize tooling for high-rate manufacturing.
• Own prototyping and validation, including fabrication, testing, and iterations.
• Create comprehensive documentation, work instructions, maintenance procedures, and QC plans.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and vendors to define tooling requirements.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles to tooling and product designs.
• Act as primary technical resource for tooling throughout manufacturing.
