Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own the design, development, and implementation of production tooling for solid rocket motors. You will drive end-to-end tooling development from concept through production release, coordinating with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure robust, scalable tooling.

You will apply DFM/DFA, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and advanced CAD/FEA to deliver tooling that enables high-rate manufacturing and reliable performance on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• 3-8+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a significant focus on manufacturing or production engineering.
• Proven ownership over mechanical design projects from concept to full production release.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end lifecycle of specialized manufacturing tooling for solid rocket motors, from concept to production release.
• Serve as design authority for tooling including jigs, fixtures, molds, and test fixtures.
• Drive design using CAD, FEA, DFM, and DFA to ensure robustness and manufacturability.
• Oversee prototyping, validation, fabrication, testing, and iteration of tooling designs.
• Create documentation, work instructions, maintenance procedures, and quality control plans for tooling.
• Collaborate with internal manufacturing teams, quality engineers, and external vendors to meet tooling requirements and improve lifespan.
• Apply DFM and DFA principles to product and tooling designs for scalable production.
• Act as a primary technical resource for tooling across the manufacturing value chain.
