Job summary

Cobot in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Product Design to craft electromechanical systems from concept to test. You will own mechanical design across structures, enclosures, and thermal management for both commercial and specialized robot development, delivering robust, manufacturable hardware.

The role requires collaboration with hardware, safety, test, and manufacturing teams, plus occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical product design experience.
• Proficiency in mechanical CAD; SolidWorks experience is preferred.
• Experience designing complex electromechanical systems, assemblies, enclosures, or mechanical packaging.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including materials, tolerances, GD&T, and structural and/or thermal design.
• Experience taking hardware through prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design iteration.
• Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willing to occasionally travel.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop system-critical mechanical hardware, including structures, enclosures, electromechanical packaging, thermal management, and environmental protection.
• Collaborate with hardware, safety, test, manufacturing, and supplier teams to translate product and engineering requirements into robust mechanical designs.
• Own designs from analysis and CAD through prototype build, validation, root cause, and design iteration.
