Job summary

Collaborative Robotics in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Product Design to own the mechanical design from concept through test for electromechanical systems used in robotics. You will deliver robust, manufacturable hardware, including thermal management and environmental protections, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of hands-on design experience, and comfort working in a fast-paced startup

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical product design experience.
• Proficiency in mechanical CAD; SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Experience designing complex electromechanical systems, assemblies, enclosures, or mechanical packaging.
• Strong fundamentals in materials, tolerances, GD&T, and thermal/design considerations.
• Experience taking hardware from prototype through testing and iteration.
• Willing to travel occasionally.
• Must meet U.S. person status requirements at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop system-critical mechanical hardware including structures and packaging.
• Collaborate with hardware, safety, test, manufacturing, and supplier teams to translate requirements into robust designs.
• Own designs from analysis through prototype build, validation, root-cause, and iteration.
