Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical or Chemical Engineer with 3+ years in the power industry for a hybrid role based in the United States. You will apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics to support design, sizing, optimization, and reports for power plant projects.

Responsibilities include performing calculations, preparing technical reports, and collaborating with project teams to design mechanical systems, with travel to client sites and design reviews as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years in the power industry.
• Ability to prepare calculations and reports with strong writing skills.
• Knowledge of practical mechanical engineering applications to a project design.
• Strong interest in numerical computations and problem solving.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, evaluations, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews.
• Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation, and selection in response to project needs.
• Support project teams with system engineering, including design and analysis of power plant mechanical systems.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and field verification of designs.
