Job summary

IMEG in Germantown, MD is seeking a Mechanical Engineering New Graduate for a hands-on entry-level role supporting HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in the vertical building sector. You will work on design, analysis, and project execution with mentorship, training, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

This full-time in-office position offers growth opportunities, involvement in government and science/tech projects, and exposure to industry codes and IMEG quality standards

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics as it relates to building mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with engineering software including HVAC load calculations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Interact with clients to understand project needs and communicate technical information.
• Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
• Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team.
• Assist with project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Document design decisions and instructions while monitoring progress.
• Analyze low to medium complexity tasks and collaborate with senior engineers to develop solutions.
• Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet standards.
