Job summary

Legence is seeking a Summer Mechanical Engineering intern to join the team for a 10-12 week program in in-office settings. Interns will support project work, engage in design tasks, prototyping, testing, and documentation, while gaining real-world exposure in office and field environments.

Ideal candidates are undergraduate students in Mechanical Engineering with CAD/BIM familiarity and a drive for hands-on learning.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Mechanical Engineering
• Training in Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus
• FE/EIT is a plus
• Trained to utilize CAD/BIM standards

Responsibilities

• Assist the engineering team in the execution of ongoing projects
• Conduct research and analysis to contribute to project development
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines
• Contribute to design by creating and modifying engineering drawings

Internship Program

The internship program aims to offer a positive work/training experience aligned with career goals and education level. Interns will be part of the Mechanical Engineering team, gaining hands-on experience in office and field settings and actively contributing to client projects. The program emphasizes real-world industry exposure, including visits to project sites and internal training opportunities, fostering a unique learning experience and encouraging participation in company events.

Schedule

The Summer Internship lasts 10-12 weeks, starting in June and ending in August - September, depending on the candidate's availability.

Responsibilities:

Project Support:

• Assist the engineering team in the execution of ongoing projects.
• Conduct research and analysis to contribute to project development.

Design and Prototyping:

• Contribute to the design process by creating and modifying engineering drawings.
• Participate in prototyping activities to test and validate design concepts.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

• Work closely with quality assurance teams to identify and address potential issues.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
• Generate reports and summaries to communicate project progress.

Collaboration:

Requirements:
