Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a BS degree in Engineering at an accredited university.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required; higher grades preferred.
  • Junior or senior-year student preferred.
  • FE exam completion is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design on multiple projects and prepare deliverables.
  • Perform standard engineering calculations by hand and with software.
  • Utilize BIM/CAD software for drafting and modeling.
  • Coordinate with design staff and review project deliverables.
  • Produce construction documents and specifications per codes.
  • Organize project information per corporate workflows.

Job description

The Engineering Intern will be responsible for assisting with design on multiple projects, performing standard engineering calculations, and preparing design deliverables for a variety of projects. This position utilizes BIM/CAD software, hand calculations, and computer-based calculations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of a Project Engineer or Design Engineer, performs the following:
  • Design calculations by hand and by computer software.
  • Drafting/modeling of engineering design.
  • Coordination with other design staff.
  • Construction document and specification production in compliance with applicable building codes/design criteria.
  • Reviews project deliverables for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.
  • Organize project information and files according to corporate standard practices and workflows.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.
Special Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Ability to workindependently and with others.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Experience with computer aided drafting and modeling using industry accepted software.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
Education and Experience:
  • Currently pursuing a BS degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Student entering junior or senior year preferred
License and Certification:
  • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred

At times, bending, reaching, standing, and walking may be required.
