Job summary

P2S is offering a Summer Internship for Electrical Engineering students in Long Beach, CA. Interns join the Lighting Studio, gaining hands-on exposure to office and field settings and contributing to client projects.

The 10-12 week program runs June through August/September, with in-office schedule Monday–Friday. Undergraduate interns earn $24/hour; graduate interns earn $26/hour. Training and mentorship are provided in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Electrical Engineering.
• Training in Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
• FE/EIT is a plus.
• Trained to utilize CAD/BIM standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a highly energetic and multiple‑engagement environment; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the engineering team in the execution of ongoing projects.
• Conduct research and analysis to contribute to project development.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.
• Contribute to design and prototyping by creating and modifying engineering drawings.
• Participate in prototyping activities to test and validate design concepts.
• Assist in testing to ensure functionality and reliability of engineering solutions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
• Generate reports and summaries to communicate project progress.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals.

Internship Program

The internship program aims to offer a positive work/training experience aligned with career goals and education level. Interns will be part of the Lighting Studio team, gaining hands‑on experience in office and field settings and actively contributing to client projects. The program emphasizes real‑world industry exposure, including visits to project sites and internal training opportunities, fostering a unique learning experience and encouraging participation in company events.

Schedule

The Summer Internship lasts 10-12 weeks, starting in June and ending in August / September, depending on the candidate's availability.

Responsibilities:

Project Support:

• Assist the engineering team in the execution of ongoing projects.
