Job summary

Universal Orlando is seeking an experienced controls engineer to design, develop and improve ride and show control systems, ensuring reliability and safety in operations.

You will troubleshoot, analyze faults, and coordinate with engineering and operations, while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining documentation.

The role requires a strong background in PLCs, variable frequency drives, and safety standards, with opportunities to work on diverse projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and implements detailed design solutions ranging from moderate to complex in order to improve ride & show system reliability, safety and serviceability.
  • Troubleshoots electromechanical systems and conducts fault analysis to support downtime recovery during operations.
  • Maintains project status documentation and configuration management for controls hardware and software.
  • Generates engineering documentation and acceptance test procedures for design changes and training procedures.
  • Mentors early career controls engineers at Associate and Engineer levels.
