Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan seeks a mechanical engineer to lead and contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projects, including design, redesign, failure analysis, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, while meeting project schedules and budgets. You will promote engineering best practices and support execution across teams.

Qualifications include a bachelor's in mechanical engineering with 3 years of relevant experience or a master's with 2 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 3 years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Capital project design office experience and mining/metallurgical process facility experience are preferred.
• Strong communication and analytical skills, safety awareness, and advanced degree or EIT certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary engineering project work, including design, redesign, failure analysis, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Review designs and vendor proposals, coordinate with project teams, support construction and commissioning, and promote continuous improvement and engineering best practices.
