Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a geomechanical engineering professional to lead projects at our Bagdad, Arizona operations. You will act as project manager or technical advisor on site construction, review engineering plans, and coordinate with vendors and budgeting teams to meet timelines and cost targets.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with at least three years of engineering experience, or a high school diploma with seven years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with engineering experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of engineering experience.
• Experience leading geomechanical engineering projects and providing technical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for geomechanical projects and programs.
• Serve as Project Manager or technical advisor on small-to-medium site construction, expansion, or modification projects.
• Review, investigate, and develop recommendations for engineering projects.
• Evaluate and administer vendor contracts for services and equipment.
• Collaborate in site strategic planning and budgeting for designated engineering areas.
• Assist in developing Appropriation Requests (AR) for capital funding.
